**This Designer Series Paper is retired. The Night of Navy and Basic White cardstock is available. Keep this in mind, because you can find other paper that can work on it's own.
The reason I am showing you this card is because I was asked how to make a card with very little product. This card came to mind as an example of that. It was from a pack of DSP (designer series paper) that has beautiful watercolor images. You could add something to the image or just leave it as is, with just a stamped sentiment. I love this paper. I am sorry it has retired. However, there are always many beautiful designer papers to choose from, to essentially make a card as easy as this one. I know that it is difficult to decide what to purchase for cardmaking when just starting out. However, if you are like me, you want to buy everything, and yet you don't want to blow your budget! 😐 One of the wonderful things about Stampin' Up!® is their products coordinate, and that makes it easy to find things that go nicely together. I suggest finding items, like DSP, that you can use all by themselves (like the piece I used on this card) and then later on, when you begin to grow your inventory of product, you can also use those items to step it up a notch.😊
At some point I will post about products you can purchase that will get you off to a great start as a beginner, and then build on those things. Stay tuned for that post.
Now...back to this card!
I used Night of Navy cardstock for the base which is cut at 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" and scored at 4 1/4". The card front, which is the Designer Series Paper, is cut at 4" x 5 1/4". I also used a scrap of the DSP, about 1" x 6", to decorate the flap of my envelope.
The inside
For the inside:
I used Basic White, along with another piece of the retired Designer Series Paper. The DSP is cut at 4" x 5 1/4". I used the Deckled Rectangles Dies to cut the Basic White piece for the stamped sentiment. If you do not have any die cuts, or you don't want to use the DSP on the inside, all you would need is a piece of white cardstock cut at 4" x 5 1/4".
I also used is a stamp set, ink pad, and some rhinestones. All items are listed below.
